there was a poetry slam that was hosted by one of the student organizations. a slew of students read some of their work. other's read some other people's work. and there were two guest readers, poets from philadelphia, that read. and while i get that writing is cathartic and fun, not everyone will think so. and i was in the latter group. i just couldn't get into it. i was bored basically the entire time. can't really think of a memorable poem. or line. i know that the guests also bored me, but everyone else seemed into it. i don't think poetry has to be loud to be good. but, i guess, the loudness is just a part of a poetry slam. still, i just couldn't get behind it. i think the one that kind of bothered me was one where the poem borrowed something from a popular movie to make a point about culture. which is understandable. but, being of mexican decedent, i feel like i can comment on this, 'coco' (2017) is not the pinnacle of mexican culture. incorporating that movie into something does not make it diverse. and while i don't doubt the poets sentiments, i couldn't get past that. i don't think the poetry was bad. i'm working on not attaching those objective descriptions to things as subjective as poetry. it just wasn't for me. i wasn't really moved. and that's okay

i tried to meet with people for this article but they were all busy. at least the ones i tried to contact. i was asked about it by the other editors, and i told them i'll have it. because i will. but i just don't yet. not even a word. cause there's no information about them on the school's website. that's something they need to look into

the new season of 'daredevil' feels promising. i watched the first couple episodes tonight. lots of action/ b ryan went to new york comic con and he said the panel really hyped him up for it. he mentioned some stuff to me, stuff that can be considered spoilers, but considering i don't watch t.v. often, i'll take any info i can get. i also missed a whole backstory from some other series that included daredevil. i don't remember the name, but b ryan brought me up to speed
