3/3/18

the power was restored around five a.m. i didn't go home until after noon because i was lazy. yesterday was a mess

I've found myself thinking of that line in one of barry hannah's short stories. "nothing much matters after you've seen the curvature of the earth". it's a very good line that captures that sense of awe struck that will never fully go away. like, the curvature of the earth is such a sight, that it cancels everything. of course, not everyone sees the curvature of the earth, but it could be metaphorically applied to everyone's individual lives. everyone has a different 'curvature'. I transcribed that short story on my typewriter (ha!) and it's in my room somewhere, probably in my bookshelf

i finally made the agua de jamaica. it came out fairly well, and it took me longer than it should have, since i had to trial and error the process. i'm out of water now, but i can get that quickly. i also made some quesadillas. went to the store and bought flour tortillas, an avocado, a block of monterey jack cheese, six eggs, and three red potatos for seven dollars and one cent. i'm gonna make some egg and potato breakfast tacos tomorrow morning. gonna make some for tori too. gotta eat well since i'm gonna be in philly for a while, if not til monday

i did my skincare routine again, finally. my skin does look clearer

what i wanted to say about bloody noses is that i have't had one this winter. it's a little upsetting, because i came to really enjoy them last year. i thought their spontaneity and inconvenience were two negative qualities that do offer something. i don't know. i hope i get at least one

i'm exhausted. didn't do anything today, except walk to the grocery store and finally watch the newest spiderman movie. so it doesn't make sense. gonna take a nap
