i met with my adviser just now. well, technically he's not my adviser, but he's one of the people directing the specific learning track that i'm on. i told him i'd prefer the internship. that i have experience in both news and fiction publishing. that's just me talking up what i do/did for the grizzly and the lantern. there's a bit of a conflict with a class that i have to take for my learning track and one that i want to take at the university of buenos aires (uba). he said he's willing to work with me independently if i like the course too much to give it up. the class in question is a seminar on post-capitalist perspectives in contemporary philosophy. seems right up my alley, and it was the only one i truly felt inclined to sign up for. it meets on tuesdays at five. i'm going later to see what it's like

instagram won't give me back the music feature and i've been back for two days now

at the beach in punta del este, there was a lot of wind. it whirred up sand and buffeted us with it. we described it as 'spicy air'. like the sprite version of wind. if that makes sense. i think that was a pretty accurate description. there's also this joke that someone made where things are either 'con gas' or 'sin gas'. the terms come from the bottled water they have here, some is carbonated and some isn't. the joke is essentially the boneless meme, but with gas. generally, if something is 'con gas', then it's more chaotic in some way. we talked about how it would be funny if milly rocking were illegal in uruguay. the 'zack stop' vine served as our inspiration

i got a haircut this morning. i also stopped by a pharmacy to pick up some cough medicine. my throat started feeling strange yesterday as i was heading back from chinatown. i went there in search of clothes. figured they might have something interesting. i didn't find any clothes i liked, but i did find regular, twelve-ounced sapporos imported from japan. considered getting one but the price was too high. the chinese tsingtaos that i tried cost less and have more. well, they cost less in chinatown. not at the grocery store near me. i had a bao for lunch, which is just a sandwich, really. reminded me of the arepa i had last week. i felt the skimped on the sauce though

the program people told me not to hail taxis on the street and to instead call one on the phone. do they expect me to waste minutes like that? the only ones i've taken have been hailed on the street. i'm a rule breaker

oh yeah, my tooth broke during breakfast yesterday. i was chewing my toast and suddenly felt something hard in my mouth. you never forget the feeling of a tooth in your mouth. it's one of those childhood experiences that you don't expect to feel when you're older, and when you do, it all comes back. anyway i'm still not chewing with that side of my mouth. it feels weird when i press my tongue against it. i placed the tooth shard on my desk and forgot it was there until i placed my water bottle on it and heard it break. i should probably go see a dentist but i'm going to ride this out for as long as i can. instead, i might go see what the cost of new glasses is

i've started taking more pictured with the film camera i have. i'm shooting the black and white rolls i have and am at a crossroads on whether i should save them and develop them at the art asylum myself or if i should find a place that can do it for me here. it's be cooler to do it myself, but i could also fuck up and ruin it. they're also expired by anywhere from a few months to a year or two. so hopefully that doesn't have a negative impact on the images. i put my other film camera on depop and have completely ignored that app. i hope no one tries to buy it. depop already told me the item was going to expire. good

also everyone in my program, or, at least everyone i've interacted with, has been left-leaning so that made talking to people a lot easier. i'm not trying to befriend people who i fundamentally disagree with

it's raining now. my lunch was a cafe con leche and dos medialunas. basically two sweet croissants and a cappuccino-like coffee. my usual lunch. i'm skinny
