i went to the dentist today for my check-up and cleaning. he initially said that i didn't have any cavities, but i went back and mentioned the discoloring and pain in my right-back molar. he picked at it and said, "yeah, that's a big hole in your tooth". which, like, i knew. i've known for over a year. last time i went to him, he said the pain was from my wisdom tooth, and dismissed my cavity concern. he referred me to an endodotist, but misspelled that on the card. he said he wasn't gonna charge me for the x-ray of the cavity. he said that like three times. i've been spiraling ever since. i'm gonna give up eating until i can afford that procedure, which is what worries me the most. i don't care about having my tooth drilled, but i don't know if i can afford that anytime soon. i do have insurance, but i doubt the co-pay will be reasonable. as in, less than two hundred dollars

i also went to the optometrist. got my eye exam relatively quickly. prescription went up slightly. looked at some frames. my parents said the clear-framed ones look good, especially if i want to try something different. the brown ones are also nice. i jokingly said they should buy both pairs. that way i'm set for the next couple years. they laughed, but i doubt they thought i was serious. i'm not sure which i would go for. either way, i'm gonna have to wait for my parents to be able to pay for them and then have them mailed to me. at best, i'll have them in september

all my laundry is done. i just have to pick what i'm taking and what i'm leaving. i'm aiming to leave a fair amount, since i know i won't really need it for one semester. also, if i do go abroad, then i should be fine with leaving some of my nicer clothes behind. or, some of my better or favorite shirts. since i'll be back and would make it easier to take them abroad

today my brother turned eighteen. he's taller than me now
