i met up with my friend to get him the candy and to get some food. i only did the latter. we went to a meditarreanean place, aladdin, on montrose. i told him i always confuse aladdin with la fendee, which is further down westheimer, maybe three or four blocks. it was my first time there, so i kinda copied what he got at first. we talked about philly. and our old school. our mutual dislike for driving and all the responsibilities a car caries. about people and just what to expect from college. he told me about his situation with upenn, and i was glad to hear that everything was working out for him. i like it when my friends are successful. i like it more than when i am. we went to the half-price books across the street and then i drove him home. i realized when i was ten minutes from his house that i forgot to give him something. he said there was gonna be a 'kickback' (lol) later this week so i guess that's when i'll do that

i need to get my license figured out, which i had tried to do earlier but was told i'd have to do the application process all over again and might also have to pay again. essentially my license never arrived in the mail and they can't give me a number i need to order a replacement online so the next best thing is to re-submit paperwork. which entails waiting in line. which i wasn't gonna do today. so tomorrow
