i got an email in the morning that said 'free tickets to the smashing pumpkins'. i thought it was gonna be one of those raffle-type things but i opened it anyway. turns out they really did just give free tickets and now i have two. metric is opening, so that's really cool too. gotta find someone to take the second. might tweet about it

kinda weird that i have free tickets to a couple things now. the smahsing pumpkins tomorrow and then 'eight grade' on thursday. i'm looking up some of their music to get a feel for what to expect. i'm also looking up some bo burnham comedy bits to get a better understanding of the director

what i do know about the smashing pumpkins is that the character scott pilgirm wears a shirt with their logo. the drummer todd also wears a shirt of theirs. metric is in the movie too. well, not metric, but their song 'black sheep'. i painted the green heart logo once cause i found a wood heart cutout that reminded me of it. i think that's in my storage unit. i'd have to check when i'm back up there again

my brother's turtle is still doing fine. i'm looking at its cage. i mean terrarium. anyway it never really moves from one corner of it. sometimes it tries to stand on its hind legs, pushing its body up and forwards into the corner. as if climbing. sometimes it just rests there like that. other times it keeps trying to move forwards so it goes up, slips, comes down, and goes up again. reminds me of that camus thing about the guy and the boulder. sisyphus
