the other day i texted my friend something that had been on my mind in the past few weeks. it wasn't really a pressing issue, but it was something i had lent some time and energy thinking about. people like to make fun of la croix, and seltzer in general, which is fine. i make fun of it too. but people dismiss it because it vaguely tastes like the fruit ir whatever is on the label. like, there isn't enough flavor there for them, but, it doesn't need to. it's water. not juice. it's not gonna be some sugary beverage, it's gonna be bubbly water. saying it doesn't taste like lime or whatever is moot. it's water. you don't criticize water for tasting like nothing. my friend said it was probably because, since it comes in a can, people expect it to be like soda, when it's just water. even still, people will complain about the blandness and then go and put a slime of lemon in their tap water like that does anything. just doesn't makes sense. i mean, i'll admit that la croix tastes like seasonal depression, but i like it and would rather have one instead of a soda most of the time. but i understand it doesn't have to taste like juice. another fair criticism is that it's the beverage of choice for gentrifiers, and like, yeah. the first time i came across it was in like seventh grade and it wa my teacher from minnesota that drank it. which makes sense since its from there. but then, sometime around 2015, i began noticing it more and more until it hit its peak in 2016. anyway, i don't really care and this is just something i wanted to write down, since the past few posts have felt rather mundane

kaijah got a tattoo of his dog baily and it look pretty good. alejandro had mentioned wanting to come to new york with me for spring break sometime in january, but i don't think he remembers. and even if he does, his spring break just started and mine is just ending. i never went to baltimore because that was really expensive for some reason. i'll be home in seven weeks i think. which is a little. not looking forward to all the packing i'll have to do. also, i might be staying for graduation but i don't know about that either anymore. so, yeah, lots to think about
