one of my professors, the 8am one, only allows a maximum of four absences before handing out an f for the course. i had this dream that i had missed class for the third time and that i was on the verge of failing. i woke up just after, around 6:30. i kept thinking i only have two absences so far, but i could only rememeber the first absence, which happened cause i wasn't on campus yet. this second absence that i can't seem to remember if it actually exists keeps bothering me, so i'm gonna ask tomorrow. maybe i can even get rid of the first absence, though i doubt it

the cnn chief national security correspondent gave a talk today. i thought it was an interesting one, though i wasn't paying full attention, since i had an article for the school newspaper to finish up. he mentioned the threats that the u.s. faces, most notably the current issues with north korea. i didn't know what to expect from the presentation, and it turned out to just be a slideshow on these threats and how the u.s. does or might address them. i was glad to hear that he didn't praise julian assange, the WikiLeaks guy, because he isn't exactly the best person. i found the image of satellites in orbit of earth interesting. there are different rings of them, and far more than i ever thought. i guess i never put much thought into it. i always figured satellites were expensive and that few people or organization could afford to send something up into space, but it appears i was wrong. i rarely see them in images of earth taken from space. they seem to blend in, becoming almost invisible. they can't just not get in the way, there's so many. but the earth is rather large, so i guess it is plausible
