i heard a weird noise in my room while taking a nap earlier. i think i've discovered what it was. the air vent appears to be falling down. i suspect that's what made the crashing sound. not sure why it's happening or how to fix it. my roommate thought i threw a party in our room, because i had this light thing set up and a bag over the fire alarm. told her the bag was to prevent the smoke, from putting out my candle, from setting off the alarm and the light was a gift

is there a word in english, like spanish's 'desvelar', that means "to keep awake"? like, one single word that means that. i don't think there is. i like 'desvelar' because the -des prefix means something along the lines of casting out, and -velar comes from -vela, which means candle. so the word is roughly, to get rid of candles, as in staying up late, since candles were used for light after the sun went down. at least i think that's where the word originated from. i never bothered to look it up
