it's forecasted to snow tomorrow. that would mark the second time this winter it snows in houston, which is a rare feat. i don't think it's directly associated with climate change, it's too immediate a phenomenon for it to be linked to that, but it is a strange pattern that will only become more prevalent. i think it's good that we call them climate change denier istead of climate change truthers. if we called them truthers, it would only lend credibility to them. like how 9/11 truther theories seem more plausible, in part thanks to those people being labeled as truthers and not deniers
i hate using facebook because it seems every time i log on someone notices and sends me a message. i rarely want to talk to anyone on there, leave me alone. my sister had been calling me using messenger audio (or voice) and i asked her why she does that. she said it's because she doesn't have my number saved
saw a couple people share that intercepted transcription from the episode in which they talked about mlk. i haven't listened to that podcast in a while, but i remember hearing that episode over the summer. they mentioned that quote from king's speech about Vietnam, the one where he admits that the greatest purveyor of violence is his own government. i felt that. i hope my school talks about that instead of focusing solely on the i have a dream speech. it's not elementary anymore, and even if it were, there should never be a cover up on his more radical ideas
lots of liberals or democrats or whatever got mad when trump called certain countries shitholes. i think its amusing that they were saying that he can't call them that, then they went on to champion articles explaining how it's the us government's fault those countries are shitholes. the admitted they also think the places are terrible, but the shift the blame on the the states. which, i mean, is true, it is the us' fault, but weren't they supposed to argue they're not shitholes? wasn't that their whole point?
i liked when my friend's white guilt would show when i referred to myself as a spic
i don't think there's much of a difference between some totalitarian police force, like the ss or gestapo, and ice. ice is just a slightly watered down version that people think is fine because it's for security reasons. you know, we gotta stay safe from people who don't look like white, and who cares about human rights violations, theyre not citizens. gosh, i hate thinking about all this fear-mongering rhetoric, even if i am doing it in jest. no level of irony is enough
you can't call yourself a socialist, or even left leaning, if you're unwilling to share your hulu, netflix, spotify, etc. accounts!
everyone is a socialist now. some even call themselves communists or communist-adjacent. it's become just as corny as nihilism
i think i hallucinated an earlier account of aziz being problematic, prior to the babe article
decided, with full conviction, i will not see brockhampton in houston this week
