i announced to an empty living room that i was going to sleep, sometime around 8pm, and did just that until 9am. i had that disoriented feeling while getting up from the chair. first time it has happened in a while. i think its worth researching what causes that. maybe it can be bottled or contained in some sort and i can use it recreationally later on

the bolts on street signs here are about 1/2in. that's the case for signs like stops signs, bike lane signs, railroad signs, etc. not sure about metro and street name signs. those seem to require i type of socket wrench. found some possible signs worth taking

i used to want to work for a company in silicon valley, or at least silicon valley-adjacent in terms of what they do, but after years of seeing what those companies do and more importantly are, i have grown to despise them and the "geniuses" behind them. that area is detached from the world we live in. theyre always trying to market misanthropy as a good thing. even the guy everyone seems to love, elon musk, has detailed his ridiculous plan of making rocket travel within the planet an option in the future. like yeah, sure, rocket travel for those who can afford something so ludicrous is totally what we should be aiming for. not making the technology we already have more widely available to all class groups. then there was that whole lyft bus, where lyft was creating a "new" thing where a large vehicle would follow a route to pickup people (a fucking bus) but it's better than public transit because you only have to interact with people who can pay 10$ for a ride that would cost 2$-something by taking the city's services. classism at it's finest. this is part of why i steered away from stem. they're not "disrupting" anymore and it's all just derivative jargon to commercialize isolation

"hallucinating" by mallory whitten is a good poem
