I was in fishtown earlier to check out the creative reuse store. I visited it last year around this time. Have been feeling a bit homesick, and this place is as close to my job back home as i can get. I didn't find anything i wanted so i walked around and got breakfast. the barista at the bagel shop gave me a small coffee for free, which i appreciated.

I stopped by the philly zine fest. I want sure what to expect but i want surprised. Everyone there was dressed in the same, predictable manner. What really got me was how uninteresting the entire event was. I was looking for a tote bag but couldn't find one. And all the art there was boring. Maybe im just jaded when it comes to art. you see all kinds of stuff while working in a art supply store/gallery. i couldnt feel anything other than indifference for the artwork.
Another thing was just how commercialized everything is. There was an anarchist table that felt forced.
Everything was trying too hard to be different and it all felt two dimensional. It can all be summarized with the word mediocrity. That's something white people(the majority of the people there) can afford themselves. It's all so tiring.

I was hoping to start typing in all lowercase. That is more specific to how i write, but that'll have to start with the next one. Maybe i'll even just start doing it all in the html viewer instead. Yeah, that seems right.
