5/6/19

i've done the math. in the past year, i've made six hundred dollars from my writing. which is a good start. it's not like that's one months rent or anything, but it does feel nice to know that i'm on the right path, if you could call wanting to make money off writing the right path

i'm going to finally get my work ethic together this week. i wrote an essay that i thought was due tomorrow but was pushed back to next tuesday. i sent a couple emails. gonna write another assignment that was due a couple weeks ago. gonna pretend to read an entire book by wednesday. everything else will fall in line i guess

'father of the bride' is an eight. i saw that pitchfork gave it that score and i agree. it lacks the same punchiness that previous albums had, but it does experiment with sounds more. i'd rank it third in their discography. modern vampires > s/t > fotb > contra, but they're all pretty good so it doesn't much matter. 'we belong together' and 'rich man' are the only ones that i really skip. haven't ranked them yet but 'sympathy', 'bambina', 'my mistake', and 'spring snow' are all standouts

it's almost a week into may. wild

i was experimenting with redesigning a blog layout but i couldn't quite figure out how to transfer over the html onto blogger. i copy-pasted it in, but it gave me a few errors that i couldn't solve at the time. gonna keep working on that

i finally made and tried an aperol spritz last week and they've become a favorite in terms of mixed drinks. i overpaid for the aperol. found it elsewhere for over two dollars less. the soda and orange were a little over a dollar. i couldn't find prosecco, i guess argentina has a sort of import ban, or at least complication, when it comes to wines cause all i really find are domestic ones. which doesn't much matter i suppose. i bought ten dollar wine which was a lot for me, considering i've stayed under five up to that point. now i know what to get to replace the prosecco though, so its more of a one time purchase. it was good though. i want to make it my staple drink for senior year

i saw a rugby game, which was fine. i wasn't into it that much. i blankly watched the game, only ever really paying attention when someone got hurt or when the home team scored and some pyrotechnics went off
