i've caught up with all of the comedy podcasts i listen to. and the hockey one. always feels weird to listen to old episodes of things cause they bring up things that happened a while back. so the topics can feel a little dated. that being said, it's a good reminder of those things too. especially with the politics and sports ones. might subscribe to a patreon or two to get more episodes. i might get that desperate

you know, it's impossible to name a "good" president. like obama? deporter in chief plus too drone happy. fdr? yeah social policies but also japanese internment. lincoln? emancipator, but still subscribed to white nationalist ideas. which i guess forces us to rethink the idea of a good president. obama is good in comparison, but if everyone is bad, then there isn't really a good. less bad does not equate good. so, i think, that the presidency does not lend itself to goodness. like, there is plenty of implicit violence that comes with that position that there can never really be a "good" president. that's not to say that we should fall into a nihilism about it and subscribe to an idea that the position is inherently evil and we shouldn't try. we can't really change that violence, but we can definitely demand better. still, i don't feel especially moved by any candidates running for office in texas rn. which is unfortunate
