i drove to austin this morning. alejandro had to work so we didn't do anything until later. we stopped by a buc-ees on the way here because i wanted to take a picture in the bathroom. it's just so comically large. i got some kolaches there, which were good. alejandro said they gave him heartburn, which was a bit of an exaggeration

his parents met us there cause they were giving him a new mattress. the older one apparently sunk in too much. we went and got pupusas. i had my first topo chico in a while. i need to buy more. he lent me his car, which i had planend to use to go out for coffee but instead i just hung out at his house. there was a dog named ladybug, which i kept accidentally calling ladybird. she was a nice dog that apparently got pregnant at the age of three

his housemates were cool

we went to this expensive coffee place that had a good view of lake austin. i don't think i'd ever go back though. not my crowd. some kids were feeding these large catfish and turtles some chips or something. i three some partly melted ice cubes at them

apparently the frost tower in austin was designed by an architect who applied to ut's program but was denied and instead went to rice. he supposedly incorporated an owl into each corner of the building to spite ut, and one of these owls is in the direction that the ut tower faces, so that it will always face the rice owl (that's their mascot). crazy if true. i respect it
