i watched 'the silence of the lambs' (1991) last night and that song that buffalo bill dances to towards the end has been stuck in my head. 'goodvye horses' is q lazzarus' one hit wonder and i wish they had put out more. it has a very dark sound to it, which will make it a good addition to my halloween playlist for this year

was in philly again. stopped bu fishtown, where i got an iced americano. it was in the high eighties, even reached ninety. i thought i was walking down the street with all the overpriced shops, but i made a turn at a bagel place that sent me closer to the coffee place i was going, but not through the more interesting route. didn't matter though. the coffee place is also a record store. i didn't go record shopping in the basement. when walking back towards the train, i saw this lady that had, like, seven white children on some sort of leash that makes walking children. even just writing that sentence sounds funny. like children are animals or pets. i then went to the italian market. i originally intended to eat in center city as bareburger, but i went to some mexican place that's further south of the italian tourist place. kim wanted some mexican food, and i was down. we also stopped by some mexican shop, where i felt bad about potentially not buying anything so i bought a water. i just feel that, my mother has always talked about opening some sort of business and seeing other latino people running a business, i just want to support them. i kinda relate to their attempts at making a living. so i bought a bottle of water

we stopped by uniqlo, where i saw a few things i liked but ultimately didn't buy. maybe i'll purchase it online or something. i don't know

rae had her last improve show. the show was fine, very front heavy. there's an election for the next leaders i guess and i hope those go well. there's this one person that wants to be it and i don't want them to because i feel they can drive people away with how 'out of pocket' they can get but it's ultimately whatever

i got a septa key card, which means i now have a four different transit cards. i think the i really like the color of the septa one, but i have to say the houston one is the best. it's way more seamless and i can just load it on a bus. thesesepta ones require a machine at stations and takes way l0onger to register a tap on the screen. the washington one requires two taps: one to get in and one to get out. also it uses machines at stations. the new york one does swiping, which is instantly worse. yeah, so houston transit card is the best of these four. gonna have to get more

i won an award for my essay, wherein i argue that the u.s. should protect immigrants by making it easier for them to become citizens and by abolish the untouchable police-force known as ice. i could've written better. i wrote this one in like ~6 hours. i felt the citation could've been better. better intro and conclusion. better word choice. but still. was good enough to tie for first, meaning i got 250$ instead of 500$. feels good to get paid for writing. hopefully it's the first of many times this happens
