the second night was better. got there late in the afternoon. i was offered the chance to buy some shrooms and i figured, why not. then i got the offer for molly but that was a little much for me to try and do. i don't want to experiemtn with things in public like that. they tasted like the usually do and i really felt it during the solange set. which i would try to describe but i was at a loss for words all of yesterday. nothing i can say will accurately describe how good that set was. rode out the rest of the peak to mount kimbie. i would close my eyes but the lights were still visible through my eyelids and they danced around, which was entertaining. the festival made me choose between justice and st vincet. justice has always been more reserved with where they do shows, so i figured i'd watch them for a while. they had these square light panels hanging as a ceiling, and ~15 mins into their set they descended and created all sorts of figures. impressive. the people in front of me had heart-shaped lollipops, which they used to take some pictures. the whole edm/rave culture is funny to me. i can't try to relate to them. don't get why anyone loves glowsticks, reflective clothes, glitter, mdma, etc. that much but they're allowed so it's whatever. st vincent had me feeling like i got broken up with recently. like someone had just broken my heart. i liked her performances of "los ageless", "new York", and "smoking section". felt emotional when she said "and sometimes i go to the edge of my roof / and i think i'll jump just to punish you". i felt that

during the solange set i became paranoid, thinking that i left my car unlocked. during the lull between st vincent and everything else, i went out to check that. i had left it unlocked for ~5 hours. not good. looked for food but i forgot downtown dies at 10pm on sundays. pretty upsetting

nina kraviz was wild

thom yorke was hard to see. there was a large crowd and he was scheduled for the indoor stage, which was not raised enough. thoguth about colin. yorke came out talking a lot of shit. he called out the organizers for the stage (he had a point) and then told the festival goers carrying led tamborines to shut the up or he'd fuck them up. german said he sounded fake, like he wasn't actually british. a fake accent. hot take

i cried (even if just a little) during solange and st vincent. would've to thom yorke but it was dummy hot. good to see friends again
